The Sycamore Sportsmen and Conservation Club is made up of members who are probably a lot like you.
We are avid sportsmen who enjoy the outdoors. Fishing, field sports, camping, marksmanship, hiking, ...
Our members can enjoy all of these on our nearly 100 acres right here in DeKalb County, Illinois.
But, as our name implies, we are also conservationists. A hunter or angler is only successful when the land and wildlife are cared for in a respectful manner to protect the habitat for both. Our club lives by that premise - not only in maintaining our own grounds, but in supporting local and national efforts to do the same.
“In a civilized and cultivated country, wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by sportsmen. The excellent people who protest against all hunting, and consider sportsmen as enemies of wildlife, are ignorant of the fact that in reality the genuine sportsman is by all odds the most important factor in keeping the larger and more valuable wild creatures from total extermination.” - President Theodore Roosevelt.
We are located just west of Sycamore in DeKalb County, Illinois. The club consists of nearly 100 acres of land nestled along the east bank of the Kishwaukee River.
While we have plenty of room for our rifle ranges, trap & skeet range, camping areas and two stocked ponds, over 75% of the property remains untouched woodland with an abundance of wildlife.
Our members are passionate about keeping outdoor sporting alive for future generations. We strive to cultivate conservation of land and wildlife. In addition we boast a family friendly atmosphere for shooting sports where safety is top priority. All shooting events at Sycamore Sportsmen and Conservation Club are monitored by Range Safety Officers certified by the National Rifle Association.
